Windows operating system leaves a lot of temporary files like logs, installation kits, downloads, and so on. These keep piling up on your computer in various folders, far from the reach of the casual users. CleanMe is a small application that deletes the no longer necessary files from Windows systems. Besides the Recycle bin, it cleans files from nine other system locations where usually Windows leaves a large number of junk files, like Temporary Internet Files, cookies, or Temporary Application Data.
An important privacy option, cleaning of the list of recently opened files, removes from Windows start menu the list of recently accessed files. The Downloads Clean option can also be counted as privacy tool, as it removes all the content downloaded via Internet browsers.
The application is very easy to install and use. The interface is divided into two parts: on the left are the cleaning options, and on the right side, it displays the files that will be deleted. After selecting the categories, CleanMe will scan for unnecessary files and display them. These can be deleted from the system by pressing the Clean button.
The application is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64, Windows 7, and Windows 7 x64 and requires .Net version 4 or higher.
